Irvine, CA — April 19, 201 6 — VIZIO, Inc. announced today its all-new VIZIO SmartCast ™ E-Series ™ Home Theater Display ™ collection which joins the brand’s next generation smart entertainment ecosystem of displays, sound bars and speakers. With Google Cast built-in, the E-Series collection is an ideal blend of VIZIO SmartCast App-enabled smart features and Ultra HD, offered in Home Theater Display models ranging from 43” – 70” class sizes. The line-up also includes HDTVs available from 32” – 55” class screen sizes. The VIZIO SmartCast E-Series collection is rolling out now and starts at an MSRP of $469.99 for the 43” Ultra HD class size.
The SmartCast ecosystem makes it easier than ever for E-Series consumers to discover content on their mobile devices and simply tap to Cast that entertainment to their display. Available for download, the new VIZIO SmartCast app transforms iOS or Android mobile devices into a powerful touchscreen remote that can control any VIZIO SmartCast device in the home. The app offers intuitive aggregation of content for faster discovery and simpler playback and control. Users can search and browse content by genre across multiple apps at once, then select the app or source to play the content. On-screen navigation is also simplified. Rather than struggling to see and adjust settings or navigate apps from across the room, VIZIO SmartCast app users have easy access to all menus and playback controls right from their mobile screen. The E-Series collection also ships with a standard IR remote control, giving consumers an alternative way to control basic functions of the display.

While the HDTV 32” – 55” class sizes offer stunning HD picture performance, the 43” – 70” Ultra HD models offer four times the pixel resolution of 1080p Full HD. With Full-Array LED backlighting and up to 12 Active LED Zones ® that dynamically adjust to on-screen content, E-Series Ultra HD models deliver richer blacks for a more vibrant contrast 1 . Clear Action ™ 240 technology and ultra-fast 120Hz Effective Refresh Rate achieved with backlight scanning ensures action-packed scenes are consistently smooth, stable and realistic. For content not produced in 4K, VIZIO’s Spatial Scaling Engine TM and VM50 Ultra HD Engine smartly upscales content to Ultra HD resolution for a beautiful viewing experience.
As with all VIZIO SmartCast™ 4K Ultra HD displays, E-Series Ultra HD Home Theater Display models are tuner-free. For consumers that use an external antenna to watch local broadcasts, a separate external TV tuner is required. E-Series HD models have a tuner built in, while E-Series UHD models come with an HDMI cable for the best quality connection to high-definition devices.
With Google Cast built into the E-Series, consumers can access thousands of mobile apps they already know and love 2 . By simply tapping the Cast button, users can watch content go from their mobile screen to any VIZIO SmartCast device on their home WiFi network. And with WiFi streaming, users can still multi-task on the their mobile device without interrupting what is playing on the display.
