VIZIO Unveils New High-Performance 4K TVs and Sound Bars

Vizio has today taken the wraps of a host of new home entertainment products, including two 4K HDR TV ranges and a range of affordable sound bars.

The new TVs are headed up by the (deep breath) SmartCast P-Series Ultra HD HDR XLED Pro Display collection. The star attraction of these LCD sets for most AV fans will be their use of Vizio’s most powerful full array local dimming backlight technology, where up to 128 separate zones of lights positioned directly behind the screen are controlled individually to deliver a superior contrast performance.

The P-Series support the premium Dolby Vision high dynamic range format alongside the HDR10 industry standard, with HDR performance improved by what Vizio claims to be a much greater contrast range than even last year’s widely acclaimed P-Series models achieved.
