A tablet PC's just like a miniature television, right? Vizio has decided to make a quick diversion from the world of budget television manufacturing and is now accepting pre-orders for the company's first 8-inch tablet, the VTAB1008.

The multi-touch tablet runs a resolution of 1,024-by-768 (a 4:3 aspect ratio). A single-core, 1-GHz processor powers the device, accompanied by 512MB of memory. And you might want to take Vizio up on its microSD offer: The VTAB1008 only comes with 2GB of internal storage to play with, although the external SD card reader can accept up to a 32GB card.

Interested customers can purchase one of two different packages. The tablet-only preorder costs $380 and is just that, whereas the slightly upgraded bundle package sets you back $400, but includes a special "custom-fit" case and a 16-gigabyte microSD card.
