Taiwan's Innolux Display to make over 1 mln LCD TVs for VIZIO

Innolux Display Corp, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group, is expected to produce more than 1 million LCD TVs for Vizio Inc in 2010, the Economic Times reported yesterday, citing sources.

The Taiwan-based newspaper said Innolux next year will produce 19-inch and 22-inch LCD TVs for Vizio, a U.S. HDTV and consumer electronics company.

William Wang, CEO of Vizio, said shipments of LCD TVs are expected to reach 6 million units this year and 10 million units next year, according to the report.

Sources earlier reported that Innolux will increase its LCD TV capacity from the current 300,000 units to 800,000 units in 2010, and that sales of LCDs will account for 20% of the company's total revenue. It will also increase its monthly capacity for resistive and capacitive touch panels from 2 million 3.6-inch touch panels to 7 million in 2010.
