Year after year, Vizio's P-Series is one of the best performing TVs for the money. While the 55-inch isn't the biggest TV on the list, it's the best performer you can get for under $1,000, and 55 inches is definitely big enough for most living rooms.

For $800, you're getting 4K resolution, solid HDR performance (benchmarked around 1,000 nits, the brightest in this list), wider color saturation than many other affordable LED/LCD TVs, a 120Hz refresh rate, and—perhaps most importantly for picture quality—56 local dimming zones, which control the P-Series' full-array LED backlight.
