Vizio elbowed its way into the ranks of the top-selling TV brands by offering a lot for the money. In fact, we could have included four or five Vizio TV bargains on this list. At $700, for example, this 4K ultra-high-definition set costs about the same as a standard 1080p model. And, while it's UHD performance is a notch below the very best sets in our ratings, the high-definition picture quality is excellent. Two more things to note: 1) The set lacks a built-in TV tuner for over-the-air broadcasts, so you'll have to buy an external tuner if you want to get free TV via an antenna. And 2) It uses Vizio's SmartCast TV platform, which operates a lot like Google Chromecast, in that everything from settings to streaming is managed via apps on a phone or tablet. In this case, though, you have to supply the mobile device for those smart TV features to work.
