Why They're Hot: A July redesign freshened up the look of VIZIO.com, as the television manufacturer aimed to bring the feel of its e-commerce site in line with its company tag line, “beautifully simple,” says director of digital marketing Lisa Johnstone. “We wanted every aspect of the web site to have an easy path to purchase, help people research on our web site, and make everything look beautiful and rich in content.” Large tiles scroll up and down the home page amid images of the latest hit TV shows like “The Voice.” The site is meant to serve both as a research tool and as a place where consumers can make purchases, Johnstone adds. That’s why product pages include an Add to Cart button, and just as prominently, a Find a Retailer button, which directs shoppers to Amazon.com or other major online stores.
