Los Angeles, CA, -- October 27, 2009 – This week’s VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES, airing multiple times weekly on Fox Sports Net (FSN) affiliates nationwide, features the usually reserved Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald opening the door to his home to veteran FOX journalist Laura Okmin.

Fitzgerald’s star ascended onto the national scene a year ago after one of amazing postseason performances in league history on pro football’s biggest stage. It was a game that his father, a sportswriter in Minneapolis, covered.

Fitzgerald normally shies away from the limelight as the words of his father ring in his head. The elder Fitzgerald has always told his son "You say little when you lose...and even less when you win."

As much as the younger Fitzgerald has learned from his father, he misses his mother Carol, who passed away from cancer in 2003, to share in what he has been able to accomplish.

“Having my mom not be here is tough because she laid the foundation for everything I am able to do now,” he said. “She always gave me good, sound advice on my way up. I wouldn’t be here without her guidance.”

During the episode, The All-Pro receiver takes fans on a tour of the 11,000-square-foot dream home he's building after signing a new contract with Arizona in the offseason. In addition, cameras follow Fitzgerald as he spends a great deal of time with his 18-month-old son Devin.

Despite the constantly changing world around him with his increased success, the extremely private Fitzgerald talks about how he is able to remain grounded.

VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES dedicates each 30-minute episode to getting to know the real people that we only know as our favorite football stars. VIZIO, America’s #1 LCD HDTV company serves as title sponsor and co-executive producer for the show, along with Laura Okmin and her production company, LO Productions.  While the show is re-aired several times on FSN affiliates, it can also be seen any time at and

“Because he is such a private person, Larry Fitzgerald has never really given fans access to any aspects of his personal life until now,” said Okmin. “Larry has never been more comfortable with himself as a player and a person. For the first time, he lets his walls come down – opening the doors to his home and introduces all of us to the love of his life, his son.”

The goal of VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES is to create a comfortable atmosphere where normally guarded athletes can open up and reveal a side of them the public rarely gets a chance to experience.  Okmin puts the viewer in the seat right next to the athlete, providing access to a conversation that is open, honest and unguarded.

The Fitzgerald episode debuts nationally on Friday, October 30 across all Fox Sports Net (FSN) regional networks and will re-air across FSN affiliates several times. For airtimes in your area, please consult your local listings.

“Larry Fitzgerald is an amazing athlete who has done remarkable things on the football field in his young career,” said Jason Maciel, director of marketing at VIZIO. “We are certainly excited to gives fans a closer look at his off-the-field life that they wouldn’t have without this show.”

A new episode of VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES will debut each week on FSN. FSN reaches over 85 million homes nationally.  Featured athletes, in addition to Fitzgerald, will include Chris Henry, Ronde Barber and more.
