VIZIO High Dynamic Range

Advancing The Arts With HDR

With the advancements in optics on many of today’s cameras that filmmakers use to shoot their content, the range of contrast and colors captured are not able to be reproduced on conventional TVs which still follow standards established 30 years ago. As a result, filmmakers have to discard information during the coloring and finishing process to reduce the number of colors and levels of contrast in order to align with the specs of conventional TVs, limiting maximum brightness, contrast, and color range.

VIZIO High Dynamic Range featuring Dolby Vision allows content creators to maintain more contrast and colors by providing technology that allows them to not only see what the camera has captured in post production, but also allows for delivery of this premium experience into consumer homes.
