- None But the Best... Review by Artful Dodger

Let me begin by saying that I have developed, in adulthood, a serious medical condition that keeps me homebound on most given days, and because of it, I am no longer allowed to go outside and enjoy the world, at least when it is covered in sunshine. I realized that, after only the first few months of being stuck in my apartment my old analog TV, something I'd previously enjoyed very much, seemed quite suddenly dim, and began adding to what I realized was a growing sense of depression. I knew I needed to make a change, and needed to do so right away.
Living on disability can be a very great challenge, especially when you want to invest in something like a new TV. It took months and months and months (and MONTHS) of saving, but finally, to my great joy, there was just enough in the account to begin an honest search for just the right TV.
Prior to being restricted indoors, I'd spent over a year in a hospital in Seattle, WA. During my stay there, they installed in one of the lounges, the most magnificent TV I'd ever seen- a 55" VIZIO VF550XVT. It was so amazing that, despite any hazards, at least once a day I'd sneak out to enjoy whatever the visitor's happened to be viewing. After being cooped up for so very long, watching TV on that set was just like having an magical door onto a fantastical universe.
As I began reviewing the various brands of TVs, I began recalling just how much those few hours each day had truly meant. It quickly became clear that the VIZIO HDTV experience was exactly the one I wanted to recreate in the space of my living room. So, after a serious review of every set on VIZIO.com, it became obvious that the 37" VW37LHDTV30A was going to be exactly the right one for me. It isn't quite the massive 55" window of my fantasies. but I knew it would very likely do what I needed, just on a slightly smaller scale. I contacted a local dealer who reps VIZIO products, and he had one installed for me less than two days later.
I cannot begin to explain how much my VIZIO has grown to mean to me. The amazing images, the good-as-being there colors seem to have the same effect on me as one of those light-hats do on those people in Alaska who suffer depression caused by light deprivation. On the days when it is most sunny outside, and I am required to keep my shades tightly drawn, with my TV to serve as a distraction, I no longer suffer from the boring TV doldrums, something I feared might be a lifetime thing.
It is important to note, too, that my VIZIO has proven to be very much more than just a great TV. By using the HDMI inputs, I was able to connect my little Mac-mini, and so now I am able to use it as one very impressive computer monitor. I have expanded things even further by using it as a display for literally every video or audio file I've ever downloaded- movies, missed programs, pictures of friends and family.. Heck, there are even times I use it as a gigantic eBook reader. (With all this use, you'd think such a specialized TV would grow temperamental or show some signs of the heavy usage I've put it through, but that just isn't the case. My VIZIO works as well today as it did a year ago when I first got it, and it has been used almost 24/7 since.)
Corny as it might sound, I genuinely LOVE my VIZIO VW37LHDTV30A, so much so, I decided to begin a new saving's account, in hopes of someday buying that magnificent 55" fantasy. But even should that never transpire, there is no doubt, when the time does come, my next set will be another VIZIO- and the one after that, and the one after that- presuming, of course, my current one ever shows any signs of dying.(Posted on 11/8/10)

I bought this LCD new on eBay for a steal one month ago. I must say I am more than happy with this purchase. Vizio makes the best product for the money. Paired with the Vizio Sound Bar I purchased around the same time, I am in recliner/TV heaven! You won't be disappointed!!

- Great TV Bargain Review by Ed

My old bulky, extremely heavy 32 inch analog tv finally bit the dust after 15 years of faithful service. I chose to replace it with the VW37LHDTV30A. This tv although only a 720p/1080i is a vast improvement as far as being light weight, versatile and I paid much less (well over 50% less) for it than I did when my previous set was state of the art back in the 90's. For someone wanting to replace and old set and step up to High Definition this is the ticket. I am so impressed with Vizio televisions that I will be making them my exclusive provider. Even my football games and action sports are vivid even at 60hZ. I was going to go with Samsung, Sony or LG but when I did side by side comparisons at numerous stores I could not resist the price, the picture quality (excellent blacks and whites, millions of colors). Once home this tv was up and running in less than 15 minutes on both my satellite dish and my o.t.a. antenna. I highly suggest this tv to those not looking to break the bank by buying televisions based on hype. Vizio is the real deal. I will be adding a Vizio blue ray disc player and surround sound system in the future. I'm saving up for a Vizio 1080p l.e.d. next.
