Product Review (submitted on August 28, 2010):
BLUF: This TV beats the competition with all the features, picture quality, wi-fi, apps and price....then it blows them away with the great tech support! I now have three and will be getting another to replace the bedroom Samsung hanging on my wall.
I purchased this 55" to replace an old (though loved) JVC 56" Projection. Setup was a breeze which included adding it to our wireless network. I concur with all the great reviews (Vizio, Keep it up) but want to add a little on Vizio's tech support. Our first TV arrived and worked out of the box but, in a couple of days, we noticed a slight discollored (grey on light backgrounds) 4" wide bar just off center. I contacted tech support via the web and received an email reply the next day. The email was very detailed and walked me through the process of attempting to fix the screen issue. Afterwards the problem still existed so I followed the last step explained in the email (I called live tech support). I was surprised to hear a clear, english as first language, person on the other end (without having to spend 10 mins hitting the keypad). Up front you are advised that Vizio tech support is handled in the US and all calls are answered in the US (I love this complany). I can't find the name for the tech support person I worked with but, I can tell you, he was very professional and quick to determine that the best course of action was to get a view of the screen. I took three pics and sent them to him and, the next day, he called me back and said a new (re-certified) tv would be delivered within 7 to 10 days.
I received a call from the delivery company to set up a delivery date and then received an email that detailed the process which included what I had to do and what the delivery company had to do (I only had to disconnect the cables). Delivery was actually made two days early and the new Vizio works like a champ.
