- Simply Outstanding!! Review by Texans & Cowboys

Got this model Christmas '09 at Sam's Club for a $200 discount from their shelf price at the time. It has performed flawlessly from the git go, ... but ... NOTHING like when I bought my HT 7.1 surround sound system and audiophile quality (high priced) HDMI cables!! I was, and still am, astounded at the difference in the color depth, contrast and sharpness, no matter how fast the action is, that cables can make. I won't skimp on cables ever again.
I placed the audiophile grade HDMI cables between the U-Verse box and my HT receiver and between my Blu-Ray player and the receiver then the HDMI out going to my Vizio. Now I'm viewing (and listening) to the way HD TV and movies were supposed to be watched. Avatar on Blu-Ray is better than watching it at the local theatre (even in 3D) ... there's NO comparison; razor sharp with zero juddering.
So, Vizio is the HD company for me. Thanks again for this outstanding product; keep up the GREAT work.(Posted on 8/18/10)
- My 1st VIZIO and extremely impressed Review by Gilbert
-
This is a new product line for me and I am reluctant to venture into new electronics markets particularly for televisions but I have been nothing but impressed with this item so far. Excellent in every aspect with but one exception; increasing the speaker volume above 20 seems to strain its capacity with slight rumbles and feedback. I thought since the soundbar with wireless satellites were offered to that the speakers were of better fidelity. In any event, I cannot complain about picture or performance to date.

- Great TV's Review by Rick

I own a sports bar and have 11 Vizio TV's throughout the building. These TV's run 14 hours a day and we have never had a problem with one of them. I also have 4 Vizios in my home and they are fantastic. Would never consider any other brand.

Our VIZIO SV470XVT1A and Blu-Ray player that we purchased during the Thanksgiving "Black Friday" sale was the first non CRT TV and Blu-Ray player we have ever purchased.
We were generally apprehensive about such a purchase as we'd previously had no experience with this sort of TV.
We chose VIZIO because it is our desire to support American companies to the greatest extent possible and VIZIO seemed to have the greatest American presence (yes I know everything is mfg. overseas).
Unfortunately we somehow got a set with a problem that showed up within days of turning it on. In our case, sparkling red lines highlighting things on the screen.
I contacted VIZIO since COSTCO didn't have these in stock any more and I couldn't directly exchange it.
VIZIO quickly hooked us up with a local service that came out to our home and changed out some boards in the TV.
Very quick, zero hassle, great service from the VIZIO rep. (Billee Van Engen).
Well, the next day, the problem is back. So I emailed VIZIO again. Within 10 minutes VIZIO (Billee Van Engen) has called me, set up an in home replacement, thus providing us with a brand new replacement set.
We should have our new TV in a few more days.
I will not hesitate to purchase further VIZIO products in the future.

I work for the local cable tv co. I bought this tv from Tiger direct as factory refurb. Hands down the best all round deal avail. I bought the wireless surround set and laughed at the size of the surround speakers. I have a wired JVC System and thought this was a joke. I hooked them up and was amased at the sound quality. I will stick with Visio from now on

I have been "watching" the "major" brands for about two years. All of a sudden I start seeing Vizio. I researched the company, looked at reviews at bought at a great price at Sam's Club. This TV has exceeded my expectations. I love it. Fabulous sharp picture, and beautiful color. I'm so glad I didn't purchase one of the "major" brands. Keep up the good work. A friend was over and said, "Wow! That's a much nicer picture than my S__y."

For 3 years I've owned a 37" Westinghouse LCD and always thought I was getting a good picture. BOY WAS I WRONG! I did a lot of research on LCD's for this holiday season and Vizio came out on top for quality and price. I was in Sam's Club comparing the Vizio 47" to the other brand name competitors and Vizio kicked their butt! When I took it home and hooked it up to my blu ray player and HD cable the picture was truly amazing. I love it! I love it! I love it!

- Excellent value! Exceeded my expectations! Review by Tom

I've been waiting to purchase a flat panel TV for three years. I considered many brands (Sony, Samsung and Sharp) for both features, quality of picture and sound, and of course price.
Two of my good friends both have recommended Vizio. I'm fussy about electronics. Love the features, but want quality and value. After seeing my friends Vizioi's and then checking the on-line reviews and finally the pricing at Sam's - Vizio got the nod.
Couldn't be happier. Great features, controls, picture, sound, styling, even a great remote control.
I looked at the newer model (SV471XVT1A), and really would like some of its more advance features (USB, etc.) but could not justify the extra money.
I'm already looking to buy the Vizio Blu-ray player and sound bar - sub woofer combo.
Good job Vizio - you guys remind me of Hyundai. Great styling, engineering, construction, support - and a fair price. No wonder why people buy 'em again and again.(Posted on 10/22/09)

August 8, 2008 By Gregory Solman One/x opens Olympics with spot for Vizio. LOS ANGELES Newly formed One/x here is diving into the Olympics opening ceremony tonight with a commercial for high-definition television maker Vizio. Called "Splash," the 30-second spot shows an athlete executing a spectacular slow-motion dive as a voiceover explains that the Vizio 1080 P display's 120-Hertz smooth-motion video feature yields impressive picture quality. Jason Wulfsohn, One/x cd and also the spot's director, said the effort emphasizes the brand's superior technology -- a change of strategy from past ads that focused on price. Wulfsohn, media director Ben Tiernan and account head Duffy Humbert founded One/x (meant to imply "inversion") earlier this year. Vizio previously worked with production house Jam Media, which had employed Wulfsohn as a director. When the trio opened their boutique, they did so with Vizio as their founding -- and so far only -- client. Earlier in his career, Wulfsohn had directed for Propaganda after he graduated with a film degree from the University of Southern California. In 10 years at Omnicom's TBWA\Chiat\Day, Playa del Rey, Calif., Humbert worked on accounts ranging from ABC to Taco Bell, then moved to IPG's Deutsch, Marina del Rey, Calif. "I prefer the energy of small, entrepreneurial teams," she said. Tiernan's resume includes stints at the West Coast operations of Aegis' Carat and Omnicom's OMD, where he worked on big brands like Adidas. Wulfsohn intends to expand and contract the agency staff-wise based on client needs and he also plans to continue directing spots, he said. Vizio spent $15 million on measured media in 2007, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus. -By Gregory Solman
Having a high quality HDTV display in your home is no longer cost prohibitive with Vizio’s new XVT line of televisions. Designed to compete with some of the highest end TVs on the shelves, the XVT has 1080p resolution with a 120hz refresh rate and 6500:1 contrast ratio/30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio on the 50” model. Vizio XVT also include Smooth Motion Technology and SRS TruSurroundXT that uses three built-in speakers to create virtual 5.1 and it can be upgraded to a full 5.1 setup with a set of wireless speakers and subwoofer for the best experience. Price of this best lcd TV: $1,200-$1,700.
VIZIO won recognition for having 3 of the 10 best LCD TVs within the 40-50" space as determined by HDTV Solutions. Within the overall best LCD TV list, VIZIO also showed well by offering 3 of the best 10 TVs including the SV420XVT, SV470XVT, and VO47LF.
Gear Patrol already established that it’s football season and asked whether you follow NFL or College football. We showed you that subscribing to DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket will advance your football consumption to dangerous awesome levels and winning a Titlecraft Fantasy Football Trophy is one of the best rewards for your virtual gridiron. But we have yet to discuss the most important part of the in-home football experience. Your massive wall-hugging liquid crystal high definition television. The centerpiece of any football viewing endeavor. GP’s decided to equip our office (perks!) with the Vizio XVT we told you about two months ago. Well, the XVT is finally on the market and we’ve thown down our 1400 bucks for the 47 inch VIZIO SV470XVT. Our retinas are eagerly awaiting an assault of retina burning 6,500:1 contrast ratio and ridiculously smooth 120hz refresh and 5ms response rates. Are we showing off? Yes, but it’s for your benefit. Why? Because, if you haven’t noticed, that flat panel you’ve got hanging on your wall is probably like ours - it’s slow. Ever notice how images kind of ghost when things are moving quickly, like football for instance. That’s called the refresh rate and the new Vizio XVT LCD runs at 120hz, twice that of most flat panel televisions, using a technology called Smooth Motion Video Processing. All we care is that fast-action movies and sports never looked so buttery smooth. Best of all the new lowered price will fit in any mans ‘football budget’. We wouldn’t want you watching football on something subpar now would we? Cost: $1399 @ Sams Club, Costco | $1899 @ Circuit City
