Great picture. Great price. Move it from SF to Atlanta to LA to SF and its still going strong. Best investment in a TV I ever made.

Excellent TV for the price Review by Jerry

I bought it from Sam's Club because it was the cheapest TV that would fit in my TV Cabinet, and I wanted to save money for the time I eventually get a bigger set.

However, I was very surprised by how great the picture on this TV is, and how well laid out the remote is. I was so impressed, I shot off to Sam's Club and bought another one for the bedroom. (It replaced a 22" LCD with viewing angle issues and a very fiddly remote.)

First, the picture, of course, is excellent, even when viewed from an angle. 1080p is stunning, especially when you come from a tube SD TV.

I still have a legacy DIRECTV TiVo, so I'm stuck watching premium and cable shows in Standard Def. When they letterbox an HD show, I can zoom it to full screen, and, the picture looks surprisingly good! (Unless you compare it to any of the HD inputs!) I built a home brew DVR for over the air broadcast (MythTV: Google it.), and I watch all broadcast shows off that, using the RGB port, which looks excellent. (I have some tech issues keeping me from using the HDMI port.)

Now, let's talk about the remote. Nowadays, even amongst some other Vizio models, if you want to use come common functions like Closed Caption or Zoom, you have to navigate through menus to get there, which is a pain if, for example you just want to turn on Closed Caption to catch some mumbled dialog on the TiVo. But, this TV comes with a Vizio Universal Remote Control, that has separate buttons for the features I use the most: Input, Wide (zoom, which is handy for watching Standard Def), Closed Caption (I recommend using closed captions for Americans watching British shows.) I just wish it had a button for RGB.

This is not an LED TV, it's traditional fluorescent back lit, but it is bright, sharp, and vibrant. Unless you're a colorist working in the motion picture industry, I think you'll love this TV if you can find one anywhere.

AMAZING! Review by Tobogigo

So I was entering my first year of college and i needed a better TV than what I had, it was some little 20in tube tv that I got for free from a neighbor, so i went and looked all over at all the TV's out there. I was originally looking at another TV by VIzio that was a 42" but it was like $675 for a refurbished one, my dad said no. So i looked further and found this one on Sam's Club website, I was amazed at what I would be getting, a 120hz refresh rate, the highest that the human eye can detect, 1080p, the best picture quaility possible right now, smooth motion technology, i still have not seen a difference with that entirely yet but still, and many other things. this is all in a 37" size TV that is only 2.2" thick and i got it brand new from sam's club all for only $534 with a 3 year warrenty! I was sooooooo happy. but as usual they had to play games on me, i checked at it for 2 weeks straight, each day it was "out of stock" and finally after almost three weeks Sam's Club actually took it off of their website! I was sooooo mad because that meant that I would have to settle for a less quality TV but to my luck i checked again one day about a week after they took it off and it was there! i called my dad up and we ordered it right away! No it turns out that I was one of the last people to be able to buy this TV from Sam's Club because they do not carry it anymore! the thing that made me even more mad though was that my family took a ten day trip down to Texas and we had to have it delievered to my grandparents house. I was soooo mad i wanted to get my vacation over with to be able to see my tv! haha all in all though this tv is amazing and everytime my roommate comes back from classes he says, damn i cannot get over how sweet this tv is! Nice Job Vizio!

If you didn't get it, you missed out! Review by aenni198

You know how a diamond is found inside an old dirty lump of cave? It's like searching for a good TV. There are thousands to choose from and it's a headache to find a great one. This set comes along... and not many people have heard of Vizio. I bought mine because of the size and 1080p ALSO the price was insane (as in insanely low!). I thought I'd try it out and if I didn't like it, I'd return it. What ended up happening was I returned my Magnavox which was an overpriced piece of garbage.. and kept the Vizio! I tried to go back and buy a few more for the house but they were gone. The only sad part of this story is that this TV is no longer available. There was also a HUGE surprise that was in front of my face and everyone's face the entire time. This TV is 120hz. If you understand what that means, you'll be blown away by the fact that THAT is what makes an HD TV look absolutely amazing and usually doubles the price. 1080p 120hz is the highest you can get. For this size it's also extremely rare. I hope they decide to start manufacturing this model again and soon. I LOVE my TV. Also for such a unfamiliar name... they produced something as good if not BETTER than a name brand like Sony. THANK YOU VIZIO! You are one of the consumer's best friends. BTW, Great job on this model... it's truly unique and beautiful.

The right fit Review by SignalBen

Was looking for the right tv to fit into the tv cabinet. Nobody else has this large of a screen that can fit into the 37 inch wide (35.75 inch inside) cabinet. It has a great picture no matter what we're doing (Laptop, DVD, Wii, or XboX). Now I look at the Vizio website to see what will work for my project at home or work before looking at anything else.

Outstanding!!!! Review by OldTimer

My 62" Mitsubishi DLP died the weekend we had 14 house guests and part of our typical family entertainment is to eat, drink, shoot pool... and watch a movie or two. Wasn't going to happen as planned, so we ran down to Costco and thinking I probably could use a new TV in our bedroom, and I'd probably get the big set repaired the following week. I saw this TV's specs and bought it, even though the picture on the display set wasn't great. Actually, all the display sets had a problem with signal so it was a crapshoot. Got the TV home and the setup was too easy. Connected my Direct TV and DVD HDMI cables and BAM!!! WHAT A PICTURE!!! Everyone was stunned. My Brother-In-Law called me today and he's heading to his Costco to pick up a similar Vizio 37" 120Hz set. I also like the fact that this set was thinner than several competitive models from major manufacturers. Think this set is 3.75" thick which makes it nice for the bedroom where it now resides. This set has a great picture, features, and sound... and I think the illuminated logo when you power it up is as cool as my MacBook Pro's illuminated Apple logo on the case. It is not in any way annoying as some folks have said... its COOL!

Great TV!! Review by Hank

Our friends opened a bar and put up all Vizio televisions. After a year of running them they have never had a problem and it is a smoking bar!

So when it came time for us to buy a TV for the house we choose VIZIO.
We went everywhere pricing them. Believe it or not Target had the best price!

It was on sale for $500.00. Well they we sold out except for the display. I took the display at a cost of $385.00 with tax!!

Got it home and set it up in the bedroom and it is AWESOME!! Great picture.

The sound could be a little better, but what a great TV!!

Thanks VIZIO!

Great TV Review by LyndaLou

Found my SV370XVT at Costco. Got tired of replacing lamps in my Toshiba rear-projection and decided to switch to LCD. What a difference in picture quality!! Can't say much about the volume....flat screens do have this issue, but with front speakers, this 37" LCD is the best it can be! Got the last floor model with a 10% discount off their price of $630.00. Such a deal......

Extremely Happy with my Vizio HDTV Review by mazinger101

Got my Vizio at Sam's Club in Puerto Rico. I am extremely happy with my HDTV: you get an HDTV with the quality and performance that is equal or better than other expensive brands for a sweet price, no wonder why Vizio is cannibalizing other companies sales. I was a fan of Sony TV products, but definitely my next TV will be a Vizio. Now my friends want a Vizio too (120Hz).

I MUST SAY FOR THE QUALITY YOU GET FOR THAT PRICE YOU CANNOT BEAT IT. I WILL ALWAYS BUY VIZIO.

Amazing! Review by DieselBoston

New to Vizio for first time purchase. I did my research and purchased from Target for $680. I love everything about the TV. Its size is great, super slim and price you cannot beat for the amount of features. 1080p with 120Hz looks amazing with Xbox 360 or Bluray. The Vizio logo on front is awesome on or off when its lit up. Great work!

Purchased tv in the beginning of Jan, 2010. Had a minor problem with remote and the remote was quickly replaced by Vizio thanks to J Kang. TV is great. I really like the fact that when I use my Blue Ray dvd with regular dvds, the picture is fantastic. I highly recommend this tv for anyone interested in a high quality HD tv.

What a picture! I have HD service with Directv and man, this is a great picture. Got it at Costco for 629.99. A great deal as well. Only manufacturer with this slim size.
I also own a 32" Vizio that receives signal from an outside antenna and that is crystal clear too!
Go VIZIO.

I had done some research on hdtvs and was hoping not to have to buy one anytime soon. I had a 52 in zenith hd dlp, after replacing the bulb a month ago the tv died on me. I went to best buy and walmart then costco. This was by far the best looking picture i found, and the price couldnt be beat! I will be a vizio customer for life!!!

Best price for the features! Review by Army165

I looked for months on which tv I should buy to replace my 27 inch tube tv. Wanted nothing bigger than 37 inch. Went to target and saw this set on sale for $629. Didn't have the money that week and got a raincheck to lock the price and picked it up the next week. I have my PS3 hooked up to it over HDMI, Xbox 360 over component cables, and my cable box over HDMI. Everything looks amazing. I have been still looking at other sets to see if I missed out on a better deal and nothing is even comparable. Great picture, sound is pretty good, and the 120hz makes a big difference while gaming.

Very pleased! Review by Doc

We have been admiring the Vizio Tvs for a while now. I listen to many tech podcasts, and Vizio is constantly revered for its bang for the buck. I was not disappointed.

I love the usb port for multimedia playback. I used to only download and listen to audio podcasts, but I can download most of them in video in the MP4 format, and watch them with out re-encoding! The High Def looks great with either our Dish or with the antenna.

Setup was a snap, and the Winter Olympics look great.

The only gripe I have is the glossy bezel. I see these more and more on TVs and monitors, and my sensitive eyes have issues with reflections from table lamps and windows. Once I move the lights and draw the shades, I love it.

We've had ours for a month now, and don't regret this purchase at all.

Excellent TV Review by MzGee

This Vizio slim TV is an excellent and feature rich system. I’ve had it about a week and I’m more than satisfied with it. Setup was a breeze and the picture and sound quality is awesome . It’s a default wide-screen display but I like that I can zoom the picture to full screen without losing captioning at the bottom of the screen. I agree with another reviewer that the stand is flimsy and uncovering layers of remote functions are really an adventure and sometimes tedious. But the basic operations are pretty intuitive. The only problem I've had is with the remote; I have to repeatedly open the battery compartment and push down on the batteries. Both Costco Concierge and Vizio customer service departments gave me great service and Vizio is sending me a replacement remote this week.

I had been eyeing this TV at Costco for about a month. When I got to the warehouse only the display model was available and another customer purchased it before I could buy it. A week later Costco offered it online for $629 with a $30 discount and free shipping so I snatched it up immediately. For $599 I got a feature rich quality TV and recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent 37” TV at a great price.

after returning my vizio 370vl in which i was not happy with.my decision was to buy this set because it gives you a more life like picture and quality sound. this xvt feature does the job by all means.this is the best tv i've purchased out of the others i have owned.i purchased this because i wanted this to be the last set purchased for a long time.this vizio just made it happen.when i returned the other vizio it took me more money to buy this one but if you want to be happy with something and it gives great results you have to spend a little more money like i just did which will benefit you in the long run!

SUPERB ! Review by PapaJohn

After many months of comparing, reviewing, viewing in different retail stores - and finally the VIZIO line was the line of choice. Settled on the 37" since it fit the bedroom best and had the best picture and features of the 37" line of VIZIO sets. It was a wise (if I do say so myself) choice. Aside from decreasing the COLOR INTENSITY and BRIGHTNESS by "just a small amount" - this HDTV is SUPERB and an EXCELLENT VALUE as well.

Far better pricing and value for the dollar was a benefit as well. COSTCO PRICING - with their SECOND YEAR WARRANTY INCLUDED was - to me - unbeatable. Had it been necessary to return the set, COSTCO'S "no hassle policy" was a definite PLUS. No way this is going back, unless something happens in the next ten weeks.

VIZIO has definitely nailed the HDTV market needs. Great in all respects and the plus of being LESS EXPENSIVE WITHOUT BEING CHEAP has earned them my business. Some may find things they do not like about this product and perhaps even with VIZIO in general. I, however, have NOT found issues or dislikes. JOB WELL DONE VIZIO!

Fantastic Review by Nate

Bought this TV from Costco for $629.99 took two months of searching and comparing hdtv's i am a electronic freak, so i tend to know whats the best and this is it, this tv is great looking and easy to setup, i purchased the VBR100 blu ray player to go with it and it just completed my perfect entertainment system, if your looking for a great size tv for a bedroom or gaming tv, this is it, no problems so far and Costco's extra year warranty helps me become more comfortable knowing that if something happens, im covered.,

VIZIO is on the come... Review by Diehardfan

This is my second Vizio purchase...the first one being a 32" about 3 years ago. Pretty good set but the difference between the two TVs is astounding....of course, 3 years newer technology fits into the equation but the build quality on the XVT is just sooo much better. They are staying right there with the big boys...Sony, Panasonic etc. Nice job Vizio...I'm looking forward to upgrading my 9 year old 58" Pioneer soon and that 72" 480 Htz coming in August is sounding better and better. Good products at a reasonable price...what a concept. :) Keep up the good work!!!

What a Great TV Review by Kalogne

After researching HDTVs (for what seems like forever) I finally pulled the trigger and bought this TV yesterday. The set up was super easy and I absolutely LOVE it! I'm so happy that I chose this model. I really can't say enough about this tv to do it justice. It is simply breathtaking and is worth its pricetag and then some. I purchased it at Traget as a bundle package, which included the Vizio Blueray and HDMI cables for a great deal. I really love this TV, I watched my first blueray movie and I was amazed at the quality and picture display. If you are looking to buy a HDTV 1080P, Slim model this is it! I sure hope this review help you make the "bright" decision.

Bought the 37' XVT and have to say that it blows my Sony away. Now granted my Sony is a few years old, but folks I have to tell you that you wont go wrong buying the XVT series from Vizio... They are an american company, that produces the sets here in the states. They are keeping fellow Americans working at the same time...
All I can say is, BRAVO to you VIZIO!!! and Thank you for a great set at an excellant price..

I expected good picture quality; got Fabulous Picture Quality! Review by Paul

Christmas 2009 was coming up, I had done my research, set my budget and went to Micro Center, to Best Buy, to Wall Mart, to Target and to Costco. I noted all the costs and all the key features and was ready to sit down and buy plan my actual purchase.

Key things:
1) What is the Display Compatibility – has to be 1080P
2) What is the refresh rate, most are 60HZ, this beauty is 120HZ
3) What is the contrast ratio, most were lower than 40K:1 this was 50k:1

Then I read the reviews online and found that the SV370XVT was loved by just about all who bought it. I looked at the price online and at Costco, and decided to drive back to Costco and buy a TV.

Christmas eve we had the gift exchange – awesome snow storm moving into the KC area so we did it early – and we plugged it in, and voila: Great picture.

ISSUES:
1) The speakers at 10W are great but for the video quality they fall very short; buy speakers you’ll love it.
2) The universal remote, truly needs a bit more friendly support; my ancient pioneer Time Warner Cable Box could not be programmed in the first 2 hours of trying. However, that’s not going to be a problem long, with this picture quality we are going to set up the new Time Warner DVR box with HDTV stations.

If I had to do it again, knowing what I know now, I’d buy this TV again. Our family is very happy with it.

Out of the box and watching Review by doctorjay

This was my first experiennce with a flat screen and I was a bit apprehensive. Got it out of the box (the hardest part of the whole process -- packed tightly) and working before half time was over. Never missed a play. GREAT pic, sound is good, price was FANTASTIC!!!!

very nice plus helpful support Review by NYer55

This is my first flat screen tv. I didn't know a HDMI from a coaxial cable. I went out an got an HDMI set of wires from my local cable company a few days after getting the tv and the tv kept showing "no signal". I called my cable company and they said they could come out a week later! I called Vizio, and the rep. there told me to try my DVD player using the new cables. BINGO! The problem was with the cable company's HDMI port! The next day, I went to the cable company, swapped out the HD box for another one and MAN, what a picture! I'm finally in the 21st century! With that short phone call the Vizio's support team, they nailed the problem quickly and accurately. When we eventually replace the tv in our larger family room, I won't look any further than Vizio!

Superb, Ranks right up there with the Sony's of the world Review by Campermac

Top Notch TV, Was skeptical at first, but after reviewing the reviews, and seeing one in person to compare to what I was considering which was the Sony Bravia and the Samsung both 37" models, the performance is clearly the victor, and the price was considerably less as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

One in every room! Review by Mark

Beautiful design, beautiful smooth picture, even a beautiful remote control!
Regarding the smooth motion: I watched Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen as the first action movie on this television with absolutely no disappointments. It was like seeing the movie for the first time - it was even better than what i saw in the theater! Honestly. The detail is incredible and the motion was very..fluid.

The television is very easy to set up - make sure you push the power cord in completely. It's a tight fit but that's a good thing.

I researched and researched - considered Samsung, Sony, Philips but when it came down to it the Vizio was a no brain-er - Beauty, Smarts and Performance for an unbeatable price. Absolutely no regrets. I'm anxious to get another Vizio for the bedroom.

Enjoy!

AMAZING TV!!!!!!!!!!! Review by Bazl

I bought this TV in a package at target... I was a little scared at first because it was this Vizio TV, blu ray player, and hdmi cables for 700 dollars and I was thinking it was a bad tv and thats why they are selling it so cheap. Well I decided to get it and I took it home set it up and my eyes were amazed!!!! This TV is absolutely AMAZING! you feel like your right in the movie or tv show. Everything is very clear and the sound is really good. This is my favorite TV so far. I also have a 42" samsung. This 37" TV is much better than my samsung... my next TV will be a vizio! A++++++++++++++++++

outstanding for the money and more! Review by Norm

this set is great- picture and sound are five star- use an HDMI cable please- the wires with the cable HD box from Optimum(Cablevision) produced an average picture and weak sound- the HDMI cable made this TV wonderful for the money!

Great Value and Warranty Review by gsuburban

Nice...USB port and great picture. Need a better speaker design however, easily fixed via sound bar or an alternative 2.1 or 5.1 system.

Nice TV Review by Liren

I had researched in buying an HDTV. I focused on SONY and SAMSUNG at beginning. After I read consumer comments from several website. The VIZIO SV370XVT, either the picture quality or the price are better than I expected. This TV’s design has been great improved from its series previous model, it has a glossy black finish with a thin frame around the screen, and the depth is really shin(2.2”) and it is easy to be mounted on the wall. I test USB input for image, MP3 and video. This TV exceeded all of my expectations. The remote control design is very nice, but too slim. All the buttons are easy enough to use. I would not setup the remote control to be an universal remote control for my DVD and VCR. There are a lot of code need to be test. The volume and channel buttons light up when you push them. The zoom and audio features give you a lot options which is good for new user. The 120Hz seems to make the motion very smooth. It has features to play pip and pop. I would not want to use them. I like the roller button beside TV. It allows you to change volume, input model and more. I have had no problems with this TV so far. I am happy to have it. I bought it from Costco with two years warranty + 90 day return policy.

Simply the best! Review by Yiddil

Thisa is an amazing TV. The picture quality blew me away. This is not my first Vizio, as I bought a Plasma a while ago and thought it was great, then a 26 inch monitor and it was fantastic too. But this one is amazing. I watch movies and think Ive never seen this movie this way before. Sports also amazing. As always set up is a snap and 10 min.
The tech. support is wonderful for any quewstions you might have and simply put, this is the best TV(TVs) for the moey you can buy. Bravo Vizio! Youve done it again! 2 inches thick, light, great finish, terriffic products:) You wont eb sorry:)

Great product!! Review by Rdraider51

Very happy with the SV370XVT. Great picture!! Many options to customize to suit individual tastes. Very easy to set up-less than 10 minutes. I did a lot of research before picking an HDTV, and Vizio gets high marks for value and quality. VERY happy with my purchase. Sports--especially football, hockey, and baseball look OUTSTANDING on the SV370XVT (I have an HDTV Cable box). Compare other HDTVs to the Vizio SV370XVT, and unless you want to spend $500+ more, you won't find a better HDTV.

Review of Vizio SV370XVT LCD TV
December 8, 2009
The Vizio SV370XVT doesn’t look as sleek and refined as some of its peers, but don’t let the appearance deceive you. The set’s crisp, clear picture and above-average onboard sound make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a quality LCD TV in the 30” to 40” range...Read More
