- Great TV!!! Review by Sammy
-
I bought this TV from ebay I was soo eagerly awaiting for it when it finally got home I set it up and played a movie through my laptop it was amazing!! Then I hooked my ps3 up on it and I was soo happy that I was finally playing my games the way they were supposed to be played. The picture quality is amazing I played around with the settings and I think I've already reached the maximum picture quality that I'm gonna be able to get because it looks soo good there's no point in messing with the picture settings.
The internet apps are great too I mostly use Yahoo weather and Pandora the only disappointment is that there isn't any Youtube!!! I would love to watch my favorite videos on this marvelously awesome tv but it is not possible :(. I hope this is taken care of via firmware, that's the only reason why this TV isn't perfect!(Posted on 12/14/11)
- Great TV and 5 Star Support Review by TB
-
Yes the television is awsome! I got a special which included the 3D glasses but I have not tried them yet as their is not a lot of choices out there.
What impresses me is the toll free support! Good caring people who speak clearly, and will either solve the issue or get the answer while you wait. All issues get resolved. I'm not a young techy so there were plenty of questions and hand holding. Only compliant would be that almost all the widgets have fees connected to them after the free trail period. My brother in-law and I have been looking for a couple of years and we both ended up purchasing the same model without discussing the purchase with each other in advance. I went to Costco he went to Amazon, but we both paid similar prices. Enjoy the television and be thankful for the support that comes with it.(Posted on 12/9/11)

- Awesome TV Review by Jeffrey Mueller

Just setup my latest family addition to my Vizio TVs. Couldn't believe what I got for $899.99 at Costco (included 2 sets of 3D glasses at no extra cost). The 2D picture is crisp and bright. Haven't tried the 3D yet but really bought the TV for its 2D...the 3D is just a bonus. Extremely easy to set up using the auto set up feature. Connected to my home Wi-Fi with very little effort. The remote with built in keyboard is awesome too. Very responsive. Haven't had time yet to fine tune all the features (color, contrast, etc.) but it will only enhance the already excellent picture right out of the box. Great job Vizio. Thanks for bringing a 3D LED TV with so many features to those of us who aren't loaded with dough.

- Love it, only have a few beefs. Review by SpazFactorial
-
I shopped around quite a bit before finding this t.v.. I got it on walmart.com for 47% off (37% plus my 10% associate discount). I must say I'm very very happy with this t.v.. The quality is amazing. I love the wi-fi internet features. I use to use my ps3 / 360 / Wii to stream netflix, now all I use in netflix on the set. The only beef I have with the t.v. is the fact that it doesn't come with a set of 3d glasses. I understand that this t.v. takes the active glasses and that they cost more, but the passive t.v. sets come with up to four pairs of glasses. After spending so much on a high quality t.v. it would have been nice to not have to drop the extra cash on the glasses.

- Awesome in 2D Review by Gunny
-
Absolutely awesome 2D picture. Easy to set up. I also bought VHT510 surround sound system, VBR133 3D Blu-ray player, and VSG102 3D glasses to complement. 3D picture has significant ghosting, Hopefully, this can be resolved with a software update.

- XVT3D474SV, Amazing 2D Picture! Review by DSAVANT
-
We are a family of Vizio TV's; from the Sv471XVT to the present XVT3D474SV, we are completely satisfied! I did a lot of research on the XVT3D474SV 47" 1080P Full Array LED 10 million to one contrast ratio 480 HZ TV to purchase for my mother who was watching an old cathode ray tube TV that was hurting her eyes to watch. She loves her new Vizio 47" TV, as well as I. The high definition movies in 2D mode practically step out of the television! I was watching a Harry Potter movie with her that i have watched many times before, and i was amazed by the detail of each character's clothing, jewelry, school emblems, background props, and camera angles that i didn't notice before! We haven't tried 3D mode yet, but we will soon. setup was simple for TV and wireless. There are many Apps available such as VUDU, Facebook, and the list goes on. My mother and I both enjoyed listening to online local and Worldwide Radio Broadcasts and Music. You can also watch TV from many angles and the picture quality stays the same. I bought this TV from Walmart for $947.00 with 97 cent shipping.

- No Complaints ~ Good 3D HD TV Review by JB
-
I brought this XVT3D474SV online for $1,037 delivered to my door. Was easy to set-up, I use the wireless feature and everything streams just fine. Best Tv I ever owned. I also purchased the Vizio Sound Bar w/ Wireless Subwoofer. Both items work great together.
To the reviewer with the white lines on the top, it's your cable box, in the settings you can adjust that, stretch it, call your cable company for help. It's not the Tv.(Posted on 7/6/11)
- Comfortable with my purchase Review by WooWu
-
It was easy to set up, the picture and sound are great, and the remote gets quite a bit of attention for it's wow factor alone. The Vizio remote unfortunately didn't seem to work with my Cable DVR but with some research I did get the Cable remote to control most of the TV commands.
I wish there were second AV inputs on the side or even just another set of Component inputs. The DVD player and two of the game systems could use those connections but not HDMI. Also wish the 3 USB ports weren't service only (rumor is a firmware will change that).
Most of the VIA apps work as well as can be expected for a TV. Neflix streams well but the Web Video app doesn't queue reliably or play well. The sports apps could use some live stream tweaking too but they do help keep up with the game schedules and scores. Hopefully more Yahoo widgets and apps will be added to the library but it's a good start.
After two weeks of scrutiny, I must say I'm still quite happy. It has a few things I'd want to "improve on" but compared to other internet TVs, it's about as good as it's going to get. It's got looks, power and wow factor that make me get up and hug it every few days so all and all...I'm comfortable with my purchase.(Posted on 5/13/11)
- No Hulu Review by Bummed Out
-
Bought this TV so I could cancel cable and use Hulu - turns out that for some reason the Vizio 3D TVs in this series do not offer Hulu yet. Was told by support it will be some time this summer. I love the TV otherwise though.

I love our new tv. It was a breeze to set up and start watching. It has an awesome picture. One problem and I can't figure out if it's the programming or the TV itself. There is a line of white across the top of the screen on certain channel. I do not see it on any of my other television. Any recommendations? The other think I wish I could do is access the internet. Am I doing something wrong? Otherwise great value for the money.

- Five Stars Review by Gary

This is my second Vizio TV purchase, I was so impressed with my first one that is still performing great, I had to look into this one. I am so impressed with this TV I am a lifelong Vizio fan now so long as Vizio stays on track with quality and reasonable prices like this one. The TV was a breeze to set up, the internet apps are awsome and the amount of inputs makes it so easy to run all of my different components to it such as PS3, XBox 360, DirecTV, Surround Sound, and my computer...love this TV.

- 5 Star Awesome Review by Sebastonz
-
We bought this TV about a month ago. Its just flat out amazing. So simple to setup. Im goin to hit on other notes of the TV that others have either overlooked or just took for granted. First the built in 3d Transmitter. Almost all the other 3d capable tvs i was comparing this tv to did Not have a built in 3d transmitter. What does that mean? You had to pay extra for an external 3d Transmitter to make your TV Stereoscopic 3d Capable!! What? really? Yes. I looked at several and on top of the price tag for the TV you were going to pay another 80$ or so for the transmitter!! Second the built in Wireless internet adapter. Again im sure most have taken for granted. Well most other TV's i looked at you had to hardwire with an ethernet cable... ew... Again they happily provided a USB adaptor to make the TV wireless, but this again was costing an extra 50$ round about.
The only qualms i have with the TV is the 3 usb ports are service only, But according to vizio the tv will support mp3, jpeg, and mpeg in a future firmware upgrade, which i would assume be supported through the usb ports opened by the firmware upgrade.
Like others have mentioned the ghosting effect is another issue. Though the only time i see the ghosting effect is on Very high contrast areas, such as black and white display areas or dark color on black or white. Watching vibrant colors i see no ghosting effect. A good example of this is the Bon Jovi 3d Video available on PSN. The spotlights in the back of the video ghost for me while everything else in the video looks great. All this im not sure isnt because of the youth of Home Stereoscopic 3d Technology and Im personally confident as it matures will be fixed.
Overall very satisfied with the buy and impressed with the picture quality in both 3d and 2d 1080p. Just amazing for a fraction of the price of the Big names in the industry that your paying for a name apparently!!(Posted on 3/8/11)

- Picture is out of this world! Review by Aaron
-
Blacks like I've never seen before, fully back lit LED sets are the way to go! If you see blooming, try setting your colors to a cooler setting, a Warm setting seems to make blooming more noticeable. With my current settings, I see NO blooming and I scrutinize the picture every second, very impressed! I wish the screen was a matte type like the previous **3 series but my room is dark at all times so it's a non-issue for me. I know this will sound cliche, but the colors pop off the screen! I do NOT use this tv for 3D, I have no interest until the technology matures and the ghosting goes away. I get a headache anyways from it so 2D only for this guy! It was so cheap that I couldn't pass it up! Do yourself a favor, get one of these and have some friends/family over and watch their jaws drop to the floor when you put a Blu-ray on! Awesome for xbox 360 gaming too! No lag or delay at all but being such a good picture shows the flaws of the games. I love this TV! This is my 3rd Vizio in 4 years, all are still working as good as they day I bought them, they've come a long way and are no longer the top of the cheap brands, now they compete with the best brands and in most cases overtake them, and for half the price! What more can one ask for?!?!

- Great TV, one question/comment Review by Cory
-
I love the TV. Everything looks fantastic once you find the settings that work for you. One question/comment I have is the 3D. When i go to watch anything 3D i get a lot of ghosting (when the 2d images can be seen next to each other like a shadow instead of just a clear 3d image) now the question is i have a bad stigmatism i wear glasses for so it could just be my eyes arent built for 3D. I am going to have a friend look at it and see what he thinks. I have played a few 3D games along with 2 3D novies and its still worth it, i just notice a lot of the ghosting. I got new HDMI cables just to make sure it wasnt that. The internet apps are very cool, i make use of at least 5 of them all the time and a couple others sometimes. I do wish you could force the update for the TV but thats not an issue that would lower my love for the TV. Hooking up everything was simple from wireless to all my gaming systems and stereo.

- SO FAR, SO GOOD Review by Matt

Just purchased last weekend. Great picture. Football and Hockey games look incredible. I do not have a 3D disc player yet, but will buy one soon. Downside to this product is the lack of 3D glasses which are included with other brand name models.

This set really does deserve 5 stars! We waited for 5 years researching, looking and debating before buying this Visio 47”, full array TRULED™ LCD 3D HDTV with VIZIO Internet Apps Model ‘#XVT3D474SV, 1080i, 480Hz, 10 million to 1 contrast ratio. We drove to 5 different Sam’s Clubs before we found one that carried this model and had it in stock. There were only 2 of the units in the store. It was super easy to set up and within 15 minutes I was up and running with a marvelous picture, great sound, and some bucks left in my pocket. I haven't even connected the surround sound yet because the sound quality is very good with the “rich SRS TruSurround HD™ audio”. The universal Bluetooth remote's full QWERTY keypad simplified the set up process even more by being able to slide the remote open and type away. The picture is truly great! Clear, crisp, beautiful colors make the whole room come alive and the 10 million:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio delivers really deep blacks and bright whites. Setting up the wireless internet connection was equally as simple. It was all completed in the set up process. Make sure you have your router number handy when you start set-up and this computer will find it quickly. Getting connected to Netflix, Amazon, Rhapsody, Flikr, Facebook, Twitter as well as the latest news, sports and weather through Yahoo was a breeze. This set replaces a Sony which has a good picture, but it doesn’t compare to this TV.
